The Najd Revival

Dirʿiyyah Light 3.png

What is Najd — and Why It Matters

Najd is the central region of the Arabian Peninsula, surrounding present-day Riyadh, including Dirʿiyyah — the origin of the first Saudi state.

In this land, after the spread of ignorance and shirk, Allah brought forth a revival of the religion through Shaykh al-Islam Muhammad ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhab رحمه الله, who called to Tawhid — worshipping Allah alone, abandoning shirk, and returning to the Qur’an and Sunnah upon the understanding of the Salaf.

This call began before any state. When the Shaykh reached Dirʿiyyah, he formed an alliance with Imam Muhammad ibn Saʿud رحمه الله — uniting daʿwah with leadership and support. From this, the first Saudi state was established — and through it, belief was purified, worship was corrected, and the religion was established throughout the land upon clarity.

This shows a clear reality: true revival is not built upon politics, culture, nationalism, race, partisanship, nor upon personalities, slogans, or emotion — but upon Tawhid, the Sunnah of the Messenger ﷺ, and the understanding of the Salaf. When these foundations are neglected, deviation appears even if the name of Islam remains; and when they are established, Allah grants true rectification — as He did before — and, by His permission, can bring about again.

Community Portal

Kids Hub (Ages: 3–10)

For young children, early tasfiyyah wa tarbiyyah is essential. The Salaf began by purifying their children’s hearts and environment (by Allah's permission) from false beliefs and practices, then nurturing them with The Qur’an, Sunnah, and sound manners.

Statement of Jundub ibn ʿAbdillah al-Bajali رضي الله عنه (a Companion) who said:  “We were with the Prophet ﷺ while we were young men, so we learned faith (emaan) before we learned The Qur’an. Then we learned the Qur’an and it increased us in emaan.” — Ibn Majah (61), authenticated by al-Albani

Youth Hub (Students 11–17)

Teenagers face unique challenges – questions of identity, peer pressure, and the pull of worldly distractions. The Youth Hub addresses these by focusing on tasfiyyah wa tarbiyyah specifically for adolescence. The portal will offer age-appropriate curricula: in-depth Q&A (for example on issues of belief, social behavior, and current events), school projects (such as research and presentations on Tawhid or Emaan), and worksheets that prompt critical thinking about Islamic principles.

One vital topic for youth is companionship. The Prophet ﷺ hadith warned that: “A man is upon the religion of his companion, so let one of you look to whom he befriends.” — [Abu Dawud (4833), al-Tirmidhi (2378) who graded it hasan sahih, Ahmad and others].

Parents

Parents bear the greatest responsibility in tasfiyyah wa tarbiyah.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “Each of you is a shepherd, and each of you will be asked about his flock. The man is a shepherd over his household, and he will be asked about his flock...” — [Sahih al-Bukhari (893), Sahih Muslim (1829)]

The Qur’an warns that children are a trial: Allah says: “Your wealth and your children are only a trial, whereas Allah — with Him is a great reward.” — [Surah al-Taghabun 64:15].

Educators

Educators carry one of the heaviest trusts: they are not only the bridge between parents and youth, but also the bridge between the student and the revelation Allah sent down to His Messenger ﷺ. The role of a teacher is therefore noble and weighty — to pass on knowledge as it was revealed, without distortion or addition, nurturing the next generation upon the clear guidance of the Salaf as-Salih.

The Educators Hub provides resources that assist teachers in this task. All content is drawn from authentic sources, presented with clarity, and aimed at strengthening tasfiyyah (purification) and tarbiyah (cultivation) in the classroom. Our goal is not to dictate how an educator performs their role, but to supply structured, ready-to-use tools that make their job easier and more effective — always upon the Salafi manhaj.
